This is not a doll, however playful and ironical as IMO having fun with dolls should be, to say nothing of more cultural questions. This is also a demonstration of how creativity and toy pieces are a good match. Soooo, Lego-shaped cufflinks, when you want to be formal-informal.


Non è una bambola, però è una cosa giocosa e ironica come secondo me dovrebbe essere divertirsi con le bambole, per tacere di questioni più culturali. Ed è anche una dimostrazione di come creatività e pezzi di giocattoli sono un buon accostamento. Allora, gemelli a forma di Lego, quando vuoi essere formal-informale.

Kinda funny allegory of seduction, the Lego “girl with a pearl earring” makes a wonderful addition to the homonymous thread on this blog - just search by related tags. But shouldn’t the pearl itself be maybe, for consistency’s sake … more cubic? For those who want to play Lego and dolls simultaneously, pink bricks have been produced for girls. And gender play (???) is safe, ahaha. An idolic example from flickr, here below!

Sorta di buffa allegoria della seduzione, la "Ragazza con l’orecchino di perla" di Lego costituisce una meravigliosa aggiunta all’omonimo thread di qsto blog – v. tag relativi. Ma non dovrebbe la perla stessa essere magari, per amor di coerenza... più cubica? Per coloro che invece vogliono giocare simultaneamente col Lego e con le bambole, sono stati prodotti i mattoncini rosa per le bambine, e il gioco in base al sesso è assicurato, ahaha. Un esempio da flickr, tipo idolo, qui sopra.

Another brick in the doll

Is it a straight-leg blonde doll with her boyfriend (yes, I might be alluding)? A double statue? A giant toy? Look closer: it’s a Lego work. To NY based artist Nathan Sawaya, Lego bricks are plastic, almost pliant material. And that smaller doll? Fewer bricks, less uniqueness, more seriality, smoother surfaces: it’s a gift set in the "Lego Belville" playline for girls. Lovely and stereotypical at the same time.

È una bambola bionda dalle gambe dritte col il suo boyfriend (sì, alludo)? Una doppia statua? Un giocattolone? Guardate da vicino: è un’opera di Lego. Per Nathan Sawaya, artista a NY, i mattoncini Lego sono materiale plastico – plasmabile. E quella bambolina? Meno mattoncini, meno unicità, più serialità, meno spigoli: è un gift set della serie per bambine "Lego Belville". Adorabile e insieme stereotipata.

Actually, properly, not a doll but at least a Lego character, Amy Winehouse as a collectors’ piece is still strongly recognizable and an element of this Zeit-Geist.

In realtà, propriamente, una bambola, no; ma un personaggio di Lego, qsto sì. Amy Winehouse come pezzo da collezione rimane molto riconoscibile e un elemento dello spirito di questi tempi.
