While I’m so vulnerable

A younger subject, holding dolls in his/her arms. Vulnerable in his/her less guarded pose. Unconcerned, or overconcened and yet unprotected re his/her future. This is the very transitory mood frozen in Dutch photographer Rineke Dijkstra’s image. Those dolls imply an open question about gender identity and  easy/hard life of this portrayed little person. It’s something melting.

Un soggetto giovane con bambole in braccio. Vulnerabile nella sua posa poco sorvegliata. Spensierato, o in pensiero eppure indifeso rispetto al suo futuro. Questo è l’esatto, transitorio mood congelato nell’immagine della fotografa olandese Rineke Dijkstra. Qlle bambole implicano una questione aperta sull’identità sessuale e sulla vita facile/dura di qsta piccola persona. Struggente.

Disquieting dolls

One of my Blogger connections, Azzurra aka moviem@tica sent me this pic taken in an antique shop in Turin. Old, played with, abandoned dolls always tend to trigger our nested fears. Pls see also my post Hospidoll dating back to 2007, July 17, evoking an athmosphere which is quite alike - if not even darker.

Vecchie bambole giocate e abbandonate finiscono sempre per snidare qlche nostra paura. V. anche il mio post Hospidoll del 17 luglio 2007, che evoca un’atmosfera similare – se non più dark ancora.
