A blog is a corpus

Looks like a self-contemplating pose and despite the appearence, it’s not. It’s a tonic, digitally designed, firm under your fingers, strong doll body (to be picky, from a JAKKS G.I.R.L. force doll, a superinteresting line now out of production). I’m using its image to start an elastic and focused tonic brand new year in which the body of the dolls will be a relevant topic in the corpus of my posts, furtherly developing the idea that dolls mirror us, therefore this should make us reflect.

Sembra una posa autocontemplativa e invece, a dispetto delle apparenze, non lo è. È un corpo di bambola tonico, progettato digitalmente, sodo al tatto, energico (ad essere precisi, da una bambola JAKKS G.I.R.L. force, una linea superinteressante ora uscita di produzione). E io sto usando la sua immagine per iniziare un elastico, concentrato bell’anno nuovo in cui il corpo delle dolls sarà un argomento rilevante nel corpus dei miei post, continuando a sviluppare l’idea che le bambole ci rispecchiano e che questo dovrebbe farci riflettere.

Vinylic Valentine

This excerptum of vinyl dolls is a work by US artist Margaux Lange, who creates jewels with Barbie parts re-contextualizing them in new ways and gestures. Here, a very innocent kiss, and it seems tender-ironic enough to share the scene with all of you today. Maybe amor omnia vincit.

Another variation on the Wonder Woman theme. Ok, ok you already know the Barbie one - vinility guarantees her immutable beauty. So, what about this trashier version? Does her drawn nature ensure her enough self-irony?

Nocturne in Doll

In a sort of Californian Nocturne, total darkness, velvety skins, scanty clothing. Hey, they’re just dolls. I like to see how fashion communication is mixing truth and vinylity (OK, neologism!) thus implying that we play along with them, too.

In una sorta di Notturno Californiano, oscurità totale, epidermidi vellutate, vestiti succinti. Ehi, sono solo bambole. Mi piace vedere come, mixando verità e vinilità (OK, neologismo!), la comunicazione della moda sottintende che anche noi stiamo al gioco.
