This is a scary doll. Therefore fascinating. She was taking part to the contest named “THE OTHERS – the dark side of the dolls” held in Rome last w-e. I don’t know who is the author (but I’ll detect soon who). I’m however impressed by her “eros + thanatos” (love + death) concept, to me reminiscent of the maudit poets of the late XIX century. “Invitation to the ball” is her name - a sort of serious memento - and the ball is a danse macabre, this time.

Questa è una bambola che fa paura. Eppure affascinante. Partecipava al contest named “THE OTHERS – the dark side of the dolls” lo scorso week end a Roma. Non so chi sia l’autore (ma presto lo saprò). Mi ha fatto però impressione il concetto “eros + thanatos”, che mi ha ricordato i poeti maledetti della Scapigliatura, fine ‘800. “Invito al ballo” è il suo nome – una sorta di serio memento – e il ballo è una danza macabra, stavolta.
