The suicidal bride doll in the morgue. Forgive her. There is
a specific genre in OOAK doll makeovers, and it has to do with the
dark side of the doll concept. Creative outputs range from very poor to very fine, as it is the case IMO with this doll by Finnish OOAker

"Presenting Shame, the last doll in the bridal horror collection Autumn 2010 by emiliacouture.
Left in the altar and believing her life to be over this fragile creature takes a bath accompanied by a razor and sleeping pills. The regretful groom returns from his escapade with the maid of honour now ready to take his vows, ready to apologies, but it is too late. He finds his bride at a morgue ready to be placed in a casket and still wearing her virgin white.
“Shame”, the fourth and last doll in the “Until Death Do Us Part” collection, brings us to a full circle and to witness another suicide. Shame is the other side of the same coin as Honour, only driven to her deed by shame and desperation instead of yearning for honour. The suicide of Alexander McQueen was a shock and a loss to the world of fashion and I still cannot accept that he took his own life. He had lost both his love and his mother within a year of his death, but I keep thinking would I do the same? If I felt I had lost it all, all reason to live for, would I too take my own life or is there always another way out? Suicide is a horrible burden to bear for those left behind and the stigma of guilt makes it difficult to process and overcome. My message is for all to speak out and to listen, to accept and embrace, and most importantly to forgive.
Tonner’s Alabaster Antoinette (17” vinyl doll), her face resculpted and painted, her body blushed. She has stitched scars on her wrists and an autopsy scar on her chest. She has been given a short white mohair hair in a simple gel updo. She wears a transparent white lace wedding gown with a plunging neckline and long swallowtail trail over a frilled petticoat. Her lace shoes are hand sculpted and painted."*
La bambola sposa suicida all’obitorio. Perdono per lei. Esiste
un genere specifico di bambole OOAK, ed ha a che fare con
il lato oscuro del concetto stesso di bambola. I risultati creativi vanno dal molto misero al molto raffinato, come è il caso a mio parere di qsta bambola della finlandese
emiliacouture – em’lia su flickr. La bambola, la scena, la foto stessa sono tutt’uno con
una narrazione stringata, motivata e commovente. Da leggere qui sotto (la traduzione è mia):
"Ecco a voi Shame, l’ultima bambola della serie spose horror Autunno 2010 di emiliacouture.
Abbandonata sull’altare, convinta che la sua vita sia finita, qsta fragile creatura fa un bagno in compagnia di una lametta e di sonniferi. Lo sposo, pieno di rimorso, ritorna dalla sua fuga con la damigella d’onore ora pronto a pronunciare le promesse nuziali, a chiedere scusa, ma è troppo tardi. Trova la sua sposa all’obitorio, pronta per essere messa nella bara, ancora vestita del suo virginale abito bianco.
Con “Shame” (NdR: Vergogna), quarta e ultima bambola della serie “finché Morte non ci separi”, il cerchio si chiude e siamo testimoni di un altro suicidio. Shame si trova sull’altro lato e sullo stesso angolo di Honor (NdR: Onore, un’altra bambola della serie), spinta all’atto fatale dalla vergogna e dalla disperazione anziché dall’ardente desiderio di onore. Il suicidio di Alexander Mc Queen è stato uno shock e una perdita per il mondo della moda e ancora non riesco ad accettare il fatto che si sia tolto la vita. Nel volgere di un anno aveva perso il suo compagno e la madre, ma continuo a pensare: io avrei fatto la stessa cosa? Se mi fossi sentita come una che ha perso tutto, perso ogni ragione per vivere, mi sarei tolta la vita anch’io o esiste un’altra via d’uscita?
Il suicidio è un orribile peso da sopportare per quelli che rimangono e lo stigma della colpa rende difficile elaborare il dolore e venirne fuori. A tutti il mio messaggio è: parlate, ascoltate, accettate, abbracciate. E, più di tutto, perdonate.

Cicatrici dei punti sui polsi e la sutura dell’autopsia sul petto. Capelli corti di mohair bianco, raccolti con semplicità e fermati col gel. Abito da sposa trasparente di pizzo bianco con profonda scollatura a punta e lungo strascico – sotto, una sottoveste a volants. Scarpe di pizzo scolpite e dipinte."Thx, Ross!
