Doll with the pearl earring

The Vermeerian theme attracts me (see post titled Dollywood on this blog, dated November, 1st), but not only me. I add today a couple of samples. One is more on the manga-illustrations side, found on the web. The other, in thumbnail format, is by enchanted girl on flickr. She’s got a beautiful gallery, no… blytheful! Being a classical, for a painting or whatever created, means being alive in loving interpretations.

Il tema Vermeeriano mi attrae (v. mio post su qsto blog intitolato Dollywood dell’1 Novembre). Ma non attrae solo me. Oggi aggiungo un paio di esempi. Uno del tipo più manga-illustrazione, trovato sul web. L’altro, in formato icona, di enchanted girl su flickr, che ha una galleria non beautiful ma blytheful. Essere un classico, per un dipinto o qualsiasi altra cosa creata, significa essere vivo e interpretato con amore.

Couldn’t believe that a doll could act such a convincing diva role. Both in Sophia Loren’s case and her strip-tease, featured in “Ieri, oggi, domani”, and in Scarlett Johansson’s in “The girl with the pearl earring”, after the book inspired by Vermeer’s painting. Updating you in a few days…

Non avrei creduto che una bambola potesse recitare così da diva e così convincente. Sia nel caso di Sophia Loren con il suo strip-tease in “Ieri, oggi, domani”, che in quello di Scarlett Johansson in “La ragazza dall’orecchino di perla”, dal libro ispirato al dipinto di Vermeer.
