Not to please perfection, therefore perfect

Ariane Dionyssopulos’ creatures seen at “Bambole a Roma” last Sunday have broadened the concept of resin doll. They are not made to please the current "Barbie beauty" aesthetics. They have heavy bodies and seem to make faces. But they wear perfect, very credible fashions, and are double -shooted to appear life-sized in the author's urban pics. They are very parisians characters. I don’t know if they have a name, so I’ll go back and ask Ariane.

Le creature di Ariane Dionyssopulos viste a “Bambole a Roma” domenica scorsa hanno ampliato il concetto di bambola in resina. Non sono fatte per compiacere un’estetica come quella dell'attuale "bellezza Barbie". Hanno corpi pesanti e fanno smorfie. Ma indossano abiti perfetti, molto credibili, e sono fotografate 2 volte per apparire a grandezza naturale negli scatti urbani dell’autrice. Sono personaggi molto parigini. Non so se abbiamo un nome… mi sa che tornerò a chiedere ad Ariane.

6 x a vinyl Barbie, or 1:6 a human Barbie?

One of most spectacular events in the event at “Bambole a Roma” was a real blonde Ponytail Barbie walking among the people – finally, a very resembling one. Doll Collectors’ Club Italia president, Antonio Russo, had this idea and asked the creative duo Artist Creations to sew a human scale version of Friday Night Date and Enchanted Evening, 2 famous Barbie outfits. To the astonishment of non-collectors, too!

Uno dei più spettacolari eventi nell’evento di “Bambole a Roma” è stata una Barbie Ponytail bionda in carne ed ossa che camminava tra la gente – una somigliante, finalmente. Antonio Russo, presidente di Doll Collectors’ Club Italia ha avuto l’idea di prendere una modella, e ha chiesto al duo creativo Artist Creations di cucire una versione in scala umana dei 2 famosi vestitini di Barbie Friday Night Date ed Enchanted Evening. Per lo stupore anche dei non-collezionisti!
