The multiplier

May any joy, any effort, any achievement, any passion be multiplied in 2013 a bit as these doll silhouettes are multiplied - and not copied or cloned - thus contrasting the inevitable amount of negative events. Actually I want to believe that whatever is multiplied preserves a kind of uniqueness and grace, a different shade.

Possa ogni gioia, ogni sforzo, ogni conquista, ogni passione essere moltiplicata nel 2013 un po' come queste sagome di bambola sono moltiplicate - e non copiate o clonate - così da contrastare l'inevitabile quantità di eventi negativi. Qualunque cosa sia moltiplicata conserva in realtà, voglio credere, una sorta di unicità e grazia, una sfumatura differente.

Count-down and restart!

 

More than dollcultural, this image is diffused and wider, from my heart. The text tells you my feeling: "Greetings from Daniela - Christmas 2012 - Year 2013" and, below the count-down, its meaning, i.e. "Just recombine the figures to see the new year as a restart".

Più che dollculturale, quest'immagine è diffusa e più ampia - dal mio cuore. E il testo (clicccare sull'immagine per leggere meglio) spiega il mio sentimento e il significato del count-down.

Gay (Parisiennes) greetings

It takes taste and time and various attempts before a nice idea becomes an interesting photo. Gathering 6 “Gay Parisienne” repro Barbies dressed in the original polka-dotted deep blue, plus lilac and red (homemade variations?); shooting them barefoot (the dolls) and freezing in a snowy outdoor scene; finding those blue reflections in the image is a lot of fun, and a good specimen of the “dollgreeting card genre”!

Ci vuole gusto, e vi vogliono tempo e vari tentativi prima che un’idea carina diventi una foto interessante. Riunire 6 Barbie repro “Gay Parisienne” nell’originale abitino blu a pois, più rosso e lilla (varianti fatte in casa?); fotografarle a piedi nudi (le bambole) e al gelo in un esterno innevato; trovare quei riflessi blu nell’immagine… è un bel divertimento e un bell’esempio del genere letterario “biglietti d’auguri dollculturali”!

Playing with Greetings

I'll add here in these days the most dollcultural greeting cards I'm receiving. Some of them are intentionally doll-and-toys-related as from doll collectors, some others unintentionally pertinent, and it's surprising. As it's the case of the white Xmas tree-dollhouse from and by Molteni & Motta.


Aggiungerò qui in qsti gg gli auguri più dollculturali che ricevo. Alcuni sono intenzionalmente collegati a bambole e giochi, provenendo da doll collectors; altri sono pertinenti senza averne l'intenzione, ed è sorprendente. Com'è il caso dell'albero di Natale bianco a casa di bambole da e di Molteni & Motta.
