Memyd aka Me 'n my Dolls aka Mauro Marchetti, is now on etsy. One of the most reluctant and most talented doll artists I ever met in my life, therefore a myth for many collectors, Mauro doesn’t love starring here and there or selfpromoting by liking himself on facebook or so. Absent, and yet famous. Hidden, and yet followed. A rare mix. For him do speak his OOAK dressed dolls, all about vintage and MOD revisited with culture, and the stunning totally handmade miniature series reproducing Barbie and her friends, featured in a very reduced scale with outfits and giftsets. Uno dei doll artist più riservati e più talentuosi che abbia conosciuto in vita mia, e perciò un mito per molti collezionisti, Mauro non ama fare la star qua e là o autopromuoversi laikandosi da solo su facebook o cose così. Assente, eppure famoso. Nascosto, eppure seguito. Un mix raro. Per lui parlano le sue dressed dolls OOAK, tutte in stile vintage o MOD rivisitato con cultura, e la sbalorditiva serie di miniature fatte a mano che riproducono Barbie e le amiche in scala ridottissima e complete di outfit e giftset vari. Perfect parodies

Beyond being a visual artist, a top-OOAKer and a MOD specialist, Mauro Marchetti aka meandmydolls has an unmistakable spirit in subverting and swapping doll scales, personas and outfits. It takes an uncommon culture, plus irony and humour to do so. The result is unique. Please enjoy this Tutti doll with her small alien friend, perfectly parodying the vintage astronaut Barbie – and we mean 1965 Miss Astronaut, not this year’s repro (not shown here, it's too much everywhere).

I’m not that gluttonous, but this vintage Francie doll is. So, out for a doll collectors brunch last Sunday, she didn’t miss fine cheese nor sweets – always on her mind. No, on her head. Let’s be a bit self-ironical, sometimes.

Becky didn’t exist. The idea of Becky existed, rather - but only as an illustration on Francie outfit packages or booklets. Becky has been a ghost to all those with a passion for vintage dolls who love MOD years – quorum ego. Now, Mattel decided to issue a Becky doll in the 2009 collection. A great marketing move. You can’t call it a repro, it’s more a reconstruction, featured in a lovely gift set. But she’s not the one. If you only knew… Well before, the Italian doll artist Mauro Marchetti (aka meandmydolls) interpreted for his pleasure his very own Becky doll, OOAK, in swimsuit and boxed in superMOD style. A great sentimental move. More to come.

Becky non è esistita. Anzi, esisteva l’idea di Becky - ma solo come illustrazione su alcune confezioni di vestiti di Francie o libretti. Becky è stata un fantasma per gli appassionati di bambole vintage che amano gli anni MOD – quorum ego. Ora, Mattel ha deciso di far uscire una Becky nella collezione 2009. Grande mossa di marketing. Non si può dire che sia una repro, è più una ricostruzione, e fa parte di un delizioso gift set. Ma non è la sola. Se sapeste… Ben prima, il doll artist italiano Mauro Marchetti (aka meandmydolls) ha interpretato per il piacer suo la sua Becky privata, OOAK, in costumino, inscatolata in stile MOD. Grande mossa sentimentale. E c’è dell’altro - prossimamente.

From a faceless, bald, naked and neutral body base, Mauro Marchetti aka Me and My Dolls literally invented this '60-ish creature (reminiscent of Francie, for those who have some vintage dolls expertise), giving her a facial repainting, hair, and a complete outfit. These Obitsu dolls are a pleasure for customizing...

A partire da una base neutra senza volto, senza capelli, senza vestiti, Mauro Marchetti alias Me and My Dolls ha letteralmente inventato qsta creatura un po' anni '60 (allusiva a Francie per chi ha un po' di conoscenza del vintage), donandole un repainting facciale, capelli, e un abito completo. Queste bambole Obitsu sono una libidine per chi vuole customizzare...
