What are these dollyish and burlesque porcelain legs doing when popping up from a cream bowl (an upside-down figurine whose skirt makes the bowl itself), from a tea pot, or elegantly kicking on the top of a cakestand? They are just tempting you. These white and fine porcelain pieces are all part of the Blaue Blume tea service designed by Tina Tsang for Undergrowth Design, and handmade in London. I find that there is much of dollcultural when you look for istance at the doll's head at the basis of the cakestand: isn’t it Blythish? Oh, had I seen this before METAMORFOSI contest, that would have been a good provocation. Too good that our contestant Charlye & Teddy’s Bly-tea cup went in the same creative direction of deconstructing a doll to make it fine porcelain-ware.
Che cosa ci fanno qste gambe bambolose e burlesque fuori da una coppa da gelato (una donnina a testa in giù la cui gonna è appunto la coppa), da una teiera, o che sgambettano eleganti dalla cima di un’alzatina? Semplice, vi stanno tentando. Tutti questi pezzi di fine porcellana bianca fanno parte del servizio da té Blaue Blume disegnato da Tina Tsang per Undergrowth Design e sono stati fatti a mano a Londra. Trovo che ci sia molto di dollculturale in essi, basterebbe guardare per es la testa di bambola alla base dell’alzatina: non è Blythica? Oh, se l’avessi vista prima del contest METAMORFOSI, sarebbe stata una buona provocazione. Per fortuna però che la tazzina Bly-tea dei ns 2 concorrenti Charlye & Teddy andava nella stessa direzione di disfare una bambola per farne servizio buono.
